FAQ
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
I offer therapy exclusively via secure telehealth, giving you the flexibility to access support from anywhere in Florida. Sessions can be scheduled around your life, so you can connect from home, work, or wherever you feel most comfortable.
What is EMDR and how can it help me?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the nervous system process and integrate difficult experiences.
When experiences are overwhelming, they can become “stuck” in the nervous system and continue to shape how we feel and respond in the present. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to support the brain in reprocessing these experiences so they become less emotionally charged and less reactive.
Rather than focusing only on insight, EMDR works directly with the nervous system, helping it learn that the danger is over and that new, healthier responses are possible.
In my work, EMDR is always used in a paced, collaborative, and trauma-informed way.
Why did you decide to become a therapist?
From a young age, I’ve been deeply fascinated by psychology and the underlying reasons behind people’s mental struggles. This curiosity fueled my desire to understand the “why” of human behavior and emotional suffering.
My journey has taught me that many people are doing their best, yet they often grapple with stress and anxiety stemming from societal expectations, family dynamics, and various biopsychosocial factors. This realization ignited my passion for helping others. I believe in the transformative power of letting go of past burdens and embracing personal growth.
My mission is to support individuals in uncovering their true selves, guiding them toward becoming the best versions of themselves. Together, we can navigate the challenges of the past and pave the way for a brighter, more fulfilling future. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients on this journey of healing and empowerment.
Are you an LGBTQ+ ally and supportive of the BIPOC community?
Absolutely. As a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I recognize that living in a society marked by micro-aggressions and systemic discrimination can take a toll on mental well-being.
I am committed to creating an inclusive environment that honors and affirms LGBTQ+ identities and supports the BIPOC community. Here, everyone is treated with respect and receives the high-quality care they deserve.
How do I know you are the best therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist is like finding the perfect pair of jeans—you may need to try a few before you find the right fit. The connection you have with a therapist depends on personality, counseling style, and other factors. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation for potential clients. This gives us the opportunity to meet and see if we click, and if not I would be happy to help refer you to another clinician.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy a variety of activities, from paddling my surfski in the ocean in Miami to traveling to hike in different countries. Staying active and connecting with nature are important to me. I’m also a huge foodie and love exploring new vegan restaurants during my travels. In my downtime, I enjoy cuddling up with my cat and diving into a good book, along with cooking and trying out new recipes.
Giving back to the community is also important to me. I have chosen to be a private pay clinician in order to provide those in need with pro bono and low cost sessions.
What are your rates?
Rates start at $160 per 55 minute session, with longer appointments available if needed.
Do you accept insurance?
I currently operate as a private pay practice and do not accept insurance. This model allows me to provide more personalized care and ensures greater confidentiality for my clients.
Many insurance companies require a formal diagnosis to reimburse for therapy services, which can limit the scope of treatment and force clients into specific categories. By choosing to work outside the insurance system, I can focus on your unique needs without the constraints of a diagnosis. This approach not only protects your privacy but also enables me to tailor our work together in a way that truly supports your holistic well-being.
