Healing Through the Wisdom of the Body

When life feels overwhelming, it’s not only our thoughts that are affected—our bodies carry the story too. Somatic therapy is a gentle, body-centered approach to healing that helps you reconnect with yourself, calm your nervous system, and work through difficult experiences in a way that feels safe and manageable.

Rather than focusing only on talking about problems, somatic therapy pays attention to physical sensations, posture, breath, and movement. This helps you notice how stress and past experiences live in your body, and how to release them over time.

What Is Somatic Therapy?

“Somatic” simply means “of the body.” In somatic therapy, we understand that:

  • Emotions show up physically (tight chest, shallow breathing, clenched jaw)

  • Stress and trauma can become stuck in the nervous system

  • Healing happens not just through insight, but through feeling safer in your body

Sessions are typically calm and collaborative. We may talk, but we may also pause to notice what’s happening in your body, practice grounding exercises, or explore small movements that support regulation and ease.

You stay in control the entire time—nothing is forced, and we move at a pace that feels right for you.
